Production Support Engineer

What you will do

• Provide technical support to ensure the smooth operation of production systems, guaranteeing high availability and performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues quickly and efficiently, implementing effective workarounds to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development and operations, to address system bottlenecks and improve stability.
• Monitor system performance, logs, and alerts to proactively identify potential issues before they impact production environments.
• Debug and analyze code to assist with issue resolution across various platforms (web, mobile, backend systems).
• Write and execute simple queries on databases (SQL/MySQL/MongoDB) to gather data for debugging and troubleshooting purposes.
• Document incident resolutions, processes, and technical knowledge for future reference and team use.
• Continuously improve processes, workflows, and response procedures to enhance system reliability and operational efficiency.

Who you are

• Experience: 5+ years of experience in production support, providing L1/L2 support for enterprise applications.
• Database Skills: Experience working with databases (SQL, MySQL, MongoDB, etc.) and writing basic queries for data retrieval during issue resolution.
• Technical Knowledge: Hands-on experience with any of the following languages and environments: Java, Python, PHP, Shell Scripting, Node.js, JavaScript, UNIX/Linux.
• Debugging: Strong ability to debug code and identify root causes of system issues across both web and mobile applications.
• Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve issues.
• Monitoring Tools: Familiarity with monitoring systems and tools (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus, New Relic) to proactively identify and resolve system health issues.
• Scripting: Experience with scripting or automation tools to streamline recurring tasks and enhance troubleshooting efforts.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and convey technical information clearly.
